I have been to Althorp , every year since 1999, there are lovely people there, and The Round Oval, is my favourite place it is so peaceful, I could stay there for a long time I could go every day and not get bored of it. But unfortunately, I can only go once a year, the surprising thing is , I find something new each time, I go. I highly recommend it.

From the moment we showed our tickets to the moment we left , we were made to feel very welcome. The house has a wealth of paintings, furniture ,porcelain etc. But what made this visit special was the knowledge and passion of the guides who were keen to tell anecdotes, historical facts etc in a really interesting way. The grounds are beautifully kept and there is a calmness about the place which is charming. The cafe also offered a good range of sandwiches, rolls etc all served by friendly, helpful staff.

It was a wonderful experience. You can breathe all the atmosphere of the old and new times. The rooms are gorgeous and the assistants are very kind. The amazing thing is the feeling that it isn’t a museum or something like that, but you realize that it is a lived estate.

The pictures are fantastic. I would like to go back there immediately.

An adorable magnificent palatial home. 500 years old history of the family. The roots goes back to the various other aristocratic families including the Churchill’s & Marlborough. The grounds and the herd of deer makes this a place for relaxing in the lap of the nature.

Nestled in between the beautiful wavy landscapes of rural Northamptonshire. You ought to visit the place to appreciate it like me.

After wanting to visit for many years work commitments and the short period of opening July August I kept missing the opportunity to visit. Today I was not disappointed. The facilities are spotless the refreshments are reasonably priced and good value. The house is well worth the visit amazing paintings and the staff knowledgeable polite and extremely helpful. The gardens beautifully maintained. I purchased a guide book which explains the history of the Spencer as well as information on the paintings various rooms and furniture. Last but not least the lake and Diana’s resting place. So peaceful plenty of places to sit and reflect truly a beautiful and fitting place. So glad to have finally got to visit such a beautiful setting.
